Your favourite vacation destination?
I’ve been all over the world, and still one of my favourite places that I try to get back to at least once a year is New Orleans.
Most-loved hotel?
I’ve been lucky to stay at some very nice, top-of-the-line luxury spots, but I have to admit, I like things that have some character and some personality. My husband booked us a room at The Cornstalk Hotel for our first anniversary and it was amazing. It’s in the heart of the French Quarter, you can sit on the balcony and listen to local musicians play all day long. You may run into some ghosts…or at least a vampire.
Your vacation style?
I like to be able to have everything from work and home turned off and squared away so I can really dive in. I like to have ideas of what we want to do, places to eat, and adventures to go on but I prefer not to have things scheduled out so that we can decide in the moment what we feel like doing that day or evening. My husband is great at doing research and finding great stuff in every city we travel to.
Your beach read?
I love a fun YA novel! I feel like a beach read is like a drive-in movie, the best stuff to see at a drive-in is a Pixar movie or a horror film because they’re big and fun. Plus, it’s okay if you miss something. Beach reads should be like that too. Trashy magazines are also always welcome.
3 packing essentials?
- My clothing steamer, you have to look slick no matter where you are.
- My motion sickness patch. I get horrible motion sickness, I have since I was a kid, but these are prescriptions and a life changer. When I take them, I can fly or get on a boat, train, or rollercoaster without a problem.
- My husband…we are great travel companions and have so much fun on adventures!
Your packing advice?
Don’t worry about packing light unless you are backpacking. I mean, if you don’t have to carry your stuff around, why not pack everything you think you’re going to need. I have no problem with overpacking. Also, make lists and follow them.
The one beauty product you can’t live without?
Lip balm, there’s nothing worse than dry lips.
What beauty trend will you be rocking this season?
Cute but comfortable clothes.
How would you define your style?
I like bold patterns, a vintage vibe, and clothes that are fun.
When travel re-opens, where will you go first?
Thailand!
