Cocktail Recipes From the World’s Hippest Hotel Bars
Can’t make it to Paris, Tokyo, or London? No worries. These cocktail recipes from the world’s hippest hotel bars will get you in the holiday mood.
1. Chairman of the Board old fashioned cocktail (Courtesy Beverly Hilton) From: The Beverly Hilton 2 oz bourbon ½ oz maple syrup Orange slice Luxardo cherry Combine the bourbon and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake several times, then strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Twist orange slice into glass. Garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
2. Orange You Old Fashioned old fashioned cocktail (Courtesy Conrad Miami) From: Conrad Miami ½ oz Flor de Caña Añejo Rum 2 dashes of orange bitters ½ oz mango puree 1 cube of raw sugar 1 ice sphere Sliced orange peel and sugarcane stick for garnish Muddle raw sugar and orange bitters. Add the rum and mango puree. Stir all ingredients and strain into rock glass with the ice sphere. Garnish with a sliced orange peel and sugarcane stick.
3. Bull & Bear Old Fashioned old fashioned cocktail (Courtesy Waldorf Astoria New York) From: The Waldorf Astoria New York 4 dashes Angostura bitters 1 tsp sugar (or 2 sugar cubes) 1 orange wheel 1 maraschino cherry 1 splash club soda 2 oz bourbon First, muddle sugar with the fruit and Angostura bitters. Next, add ice and bourbon whiskey. Swirl all ingredients with a bar spoon, and top if off with a splash of club soda. To finish, garnish with an orange peel.
4. The Drake Old Fashioned old fashioned cocktail (Courtesy the Drake) The Drake Old Fashioned From: The Drake Chicago 1 dash Angostura bitters 1 splash simple syrup 1 orange wheel 1 maraschino cherry 1 splash club soda 2 oz bourbon Place orange wheel, maraschino cherry, bitters, and simple syrup in glass and then muddle. Add bourbon and stir all ingredients. Finally, add ice and top with a splash of club soda.
