Outside her career, Emelina’s goals are to utilize her degree in Psychology and growing platform to help others and children in the mental health space, along with contributing to causes dear to her heart, such as breast cancer after losing her grandmother to the disease.

Although your passion is being on set, when not working, you dedicate your time to travelling the world. Why is travel important to you?

I love traveling so much, and I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to 12 different countries. I had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome, Italy, for a semester and did a student ambassador program in Australia. I think the best life experience comes from travelling and learning about different cultures. There is so much to see all over the world.

How do you incorporate your Pilates practice and stay fit when travelling?

I always like to stay at hotels with a gym; that’s one of the first things I look for whenever I’m travelling. If the hotel doesn’t have a gym, I bring my resistant bands that are super lightweight and easy to travel with. Body weight is great too!

You love learning new skills such as archery. What was the last exciting activity that you did while travelling?

I do! Although I am afraid of heights, I went paragliding over the Swiss Alps. It was absolutely stunning!

Favourite vacation spot?

I love anywhere that is tropical. I also love going to historical places, but if I want to relax on vacation, anywhere on a beach is my go-to. I’ve been to Nassau, Bahamas, quite a few times now, and I love it there.

Top hotel?

My favourite hotel is the Cove at the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas. It’s so gorgeous and luxurious.

Favourite spa?

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, and one of my favourite spas is actually the Spa at Encore Las Vegas. I also love the La Costa Spa in San Diego.

What is your airport style?

I like to stay comfortable and layer my clothing. Sometimes it can be really hot or really cold on a plane, but I always wear leggings with a tank top and bring a jacket or hoodie with sneakers.

Packing strategy?

I try not to pack last minute, although I am guilty of it. I always look up the weather to see what it will be like during the day and night and prepare for both. I tend to overpack. I’m not the type of girl who plans out her outfits; I just like to bring the essentials, workout clothes, a swimsuit or two, depending on where I’m going, and multiple options for day and night.

Go-to luggage?

I think it’s important to invest in some great luggage. I have some really nice durable luggage from Samsonite, and I love it!! It comes in 3 sizes, and I usually will bring just the big one if I’m going on a long trip. They have also come in handy when bringing items to set.

Beauty kit essentials?

SPF is always in my daily skincare routine, even if I’m not going in the sun. If I’m going on a beachy vacation, I hardly wear any makeup while I’m there. I like to let my skin breathe and usually just wear some mascara and brow gel. I always have my ChapStick with me too.

What do you read?

Usually, I am reading scripts! I’m always working on auditions and self-tapes, so I have scripts to read. My writer and director friends also send me what they’re working on, so I’ll read their projects. I’ll read them on the plane or on the beach.

In-flight rituals?

It is so easy for me to fall asleep on a plane. I don’t know why but I can literally fall asleep as soon as we take off, which is nice and makes the flight go by quicker. I like to stay hydrated while on the plane, so I always buy water and some light snacks before boarding.

Mini-bar must?

Water! I drink tons of water, about a gallon a day. I always go to the gift shop or a store nearby and buy a ton of water to keep in the room.

Last great souvenir?

I went to London earlier this year, and I bought the most beautiful little tea set from Harrods. London is my new favourite city.

Best place for a cocktail?

Most recently, I went to Lugano, Switzerland, for a work trip with GUESS, and on my day off, I went to Lake Como, which is only 30 minutes from Lugano. I took a train and spent the day there. I went to Harry’s Bar, which is known for where Bellini’s originated. This was so beautiful and right on the water!

Where are you travelling next?

I just got back from Europe a few weeks ago for work, so no big travel plans as of now. I have work coming up in Los Angeles, so looking to make a weekend getaway to Santa Barbara or Lake Arrowhead!
