Kara Del Toro’s Inside Look at Los Angeles

Step into the vibrant city of Los Angeles as Kara Del Toro takes you on a captivating journey through her guide to the City of Angels. From hidden gems to iconic landmarks, Kara shares her insider tips and must-visit destinations, allowing you to experience the magic of LA like a true local.

As someone who has lived in Los Angeles for several years, what’s your favourite thing about the city?

Los Angeles has so much to offer, there’s really something for everyone. We have stunning hiking trails, amazing dining and shopping, and great weather. I live 45 mins from the beach, but also 45 mins from the snow. Last weekend I went to see a waterfall in Malibu. A WATERFALL!

LA is known for its incredible food scene – what are your most-loved restaurants?

Malibu Farm, il pastaio (for the truffle pasta), Dave’s Hot Chicken

What’s your favourite way to spend a day in Los Angeles?

I’m a big-time brunch gal! I love to have brunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel, then a nice hike or Malibu beach day.

How do you stay active and healthy in the city?

I go hiking at least three times a week when I’m in town. There are some amazing waterfall hikes currently because of all the rain.

How would you describe LA’s fashion scene, and do you have any favourite local designers or boutiques?

I’d say the Los Angeles fashion scene is casual, free and eclectic. LA has tons of amazing flea markets on the weekends where you can get some great vintage Levis. I recently bought a pair of vintage Chanel flats from Moonstone Vintage LA. They have some stunning vintage pieces.
