As I am writing this, the count down to the first weekend of Coachella is officially 4 days, 1 hour, and 26 minutes.  It can’t come soon enough!  I, myself, will be having my first Coachella experience this year and I couldn’t be more excited.  Of course, the panic has set in… What do I wear?! Over the last few years, “festival fashion” has become a serious thing.  Many spend months planning what they will wear for a weekend in the desert.  When it comes to bohemian duds, flower crowns and a free spirit, Coachella is king and the style game here is top notch.  It’s best to come prepared.  Here are some no-fail classic pieces to include in your packing list:

free people hat - edited

1.  Protect your face and your mane with a cool topper.  It’s a perfect way to give your look a little hipster edge.  We’re partial to the Free People Ranchero Matador Hat, $68, www.freepeople.com.

2.  A great pair of denim shorts are a must and will go with practically everything!  Try these cutoffs by Somedays Lovin, $79, www.nastygal.com.

3.  Nothing ups your cool factor like a chic pair of shades.  We love these Fleur aviator sunclasses from Wildfox, $199, www.revolveclothing.com.

bag - edited

4.  Don’t leave home without a bag to carry all of your festival necessities.  We find that a crossbody bag is the best option because it leaves your hands free for dancing!  Try one in a fun color or with fringe to add to your look like this Foreverly bag from Free People, $98, www.freepeople.com.

5.  It’s a guarantee that you will be walking around a lot so wear shoes that are comfortable.  That doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style though.  Go for a bootie with a low heel like these Hollice Booties from Dolce Vita, $260, www.dolcevita.com.

dress - edited

6.  A simple lightweight dress could be all you need to complete your festival look.  Something like this Lovers + Friends Paradise Bay dress is great for frolicking in the desert, $158, www.shopplanetblue.com.
