“Technicolor Honeymoon” sounds like a burst of joy and colour. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the song and its music video?

The inspiration was definitely about a dreamy new romance. I had gone on a vacation a little while prior and was just so enamoured with all these feelings I’d never felt before, I wanted to try and capture a bit of that euphoria with the song and the video.

Your journey from “What Tour Feels Like” to your latest singles has been quite a ride. How has this journey shaped your music, and what can fans expect from your upcoming EP?

Going on the WTFL Tour last year was one of the best experiences of my life, and has made me feel so much more self-assured in both my writing ability and stage presence.  Now I always think of what might sound cool live or how something might translate live. And I think it’s made me more confident and willing to trust myself!

“Sunlight” and “Technicolor Honeymoon” showcase a new side of your sound. Can you share what influenced this change?

Falling in love, honestly! I’d never released a love song in the past, but these songs came so effortlessly and from the heart, that I didn’t even have time to question whether it was good or catchy enough or over-analyze every creative choice I was making.

Collaborating with big names like Timbaland and Tiësto is impressive! How do these collaborations impact your music?

I always love to try to take something from every session I’ve been in, it’s so fascinating seeing other creative minds work and I’m always very eager and fortunate to get to learn from some of the greats.

Your EP covers are eye-catching! How do you decide on the designs, and do they relate to your music?

We do a lot of whimsical photo shoots, so we end up having a lot of content we can pull from. For this last EP, we shot a whole set of looks around it, and I’d known I wanted very dreamy angelic vibes and pastel colours, but the EP cover itself is a photo from years ago!

Your songs often feel nostalgic and dreamy. How do you create this vibe, and why is it important to you?

I’ve always loved fantasy and things that make the day to day life a little less mundane and more wondrous! For me, that’s been leaning into this almost fictional character fairy sort of aesthetic, and just embracing what I enjoy and what makes me happy.

Besides music, you’re into gaming and raising butterflies. How do these hobbies inspire your songs?

Butterflies have become a huge part of my branding and imagery, so I think the raising butterflies hobby honestly shaped the trajectory of my career! Until that point, I had always been trying to pin down who I wanted to be as an artist and how to place myself in a genre. When the butterflies came into the picture a couple of years back, it was as though all those pieces finally fell into place.

What can listeners expect from “Wonderlust: The Dawn”?

I think they can expect the most authentic music I’ve released to this point. It’s very romantic, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a sad album or a good cry. But it’s very joyous and fun, and it’s nice to allow myself to embrace that!

Looking forward, what fashion or music collaborations are you excited about?

I’m super excited for Sabrina Carpenter’s new album, I think she’s been killing it lately and I’m stoked about hearing more music from her. It’ll be a great album to head into summer with!
