Passport to Beauty
Women are pushing beauty boundaries and when they get creative, we get daring new trends that inspire us to go outside our comfort zones. Here’s what’s trending around the globe (i.e. the looks you need to try now)!
South Korea: About Face
Known internationally for introducing the world to BB cream, it is no secret that South Korea is synonymous with stellar skincare. To achieve a dewy, luminous glow, however, takes some serious work. On average, South Korean women use approximately 10 different skincare products, ranging from facial oils, sheet masks, and anti-aging ampoules with exotic ingredients like snail slime and bee venom. To keep your glowing skin at the center of attention, only use a few coats of mascara and lip gloss to let your beauty shine through.
Argentina: Lip Service
The hottest makeup trend in Argentina is a bold, sexy pout. Argentinian women love to pair a subtle, natural smoky eye with a bright lip color. When it comes to color, the brighter the better! To achieve long-lasting lip color, first gently buff your lips with a damp washcloth. Then apply a non-petroleum lip balm and swipe on your first coat of lipstick. Blot gently with a tissue and apply a second coat. Not only will your lip color be more vibrant, but it will last throughout the day!
London: Lash Out
Ladies in London are eyeing the latest beauty trend-clumped lashes. The look that made 1960’s-era models and Twiggy style icons is taking modern “it girls” by storm. To achieve the look, swipe on a coat of mascara and while it’s wet and clump a few lashes together with your fingers. Once dry, curl your lashes and apply another coat of mascara with the tip of the wand for extra clump.
Paris: Shocking Sights
In Paris, where beautiful French girls exude nothing but ease when it comes to glamour, neon eyelids are emerging as the latest trend. From magenta to streaks of bright aquamarine eyeliner, women all over Paris are dressing up their eyelids while keeping the rest of their makeup natural. To nail this look, don’t aim for perfection; a smeared, just-thrown-on approach will give you that French cool girl edge.
Milan: Kissable Color
A look once reserved for Star Wars heroine Queen Amidala, American women are switching up their beauty look by using two different lip colors-at once! Seen on the runways at Nanette Lepore and Dior, women are letting their lips take center stage with two-toned lipstick looks. To achieve the trend, choose two lipstick colors that complement each other. Paint the smallest lip the bolder, darker hue, and the larger lip the lighter color.
