Sarah Jessica Parker Designs Bag for Fendi
Fendi’s most iconic bag, the Baguette, is getting a new look… a celebrity makeover, if you will. The bag initially rose to stardom when it sat nestled beneath the arm of fashionista, Carrie Bradshaw, on Sex and the City. It’s only fitting that the actress that brought the Bradshaw to life, and with it, a cult following of fashion lovers everywhere, should give the bag a star-studded treatment.
Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t the only one to put in her two sense. Rihanna, artist Rachel Feinstein, model Jourdan Dunn, and The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine will also create their own versions for the 3Baguette Project. All of the bags will be displayed at Fendi’s Madison Avenue store location from Feb. 13 to March 13 before being auctioned for charity. Parker’s bag will specifically benefit the Brain Trauma Foundation.
SJP’s gilded creation is the first to surface and the bag is a stunner. The beauty is adorned with metallic-treated leather and color-blocked violet, black, white and azure panels.
“For me there’s a real sentimental value attached to the brand. Fendi was integral in the storytelling on Sex and the City, and was the first big fashion house that worked with us,” Parker says. “Not many others allowed us the opportunity to have access and help shape our story. It was an important moment that helped give us greater fashion credibility. It’s such an important, historic house and I love how gracious and bold they always are.”
