Summer Crosley’s Holiday Rules
In the ever-evolving world of fashion and lifestyle, where trends come and go, one CEO is making waves in a truly unique way. Meet Summer Crosley, the passionate globetrotter, eco-warrior, and model extraordinaire who has graced the pages of over three hundred fashion and lifestyle magazines worldwide. But there’s more to Summer than meets the eye; she’s also the brains behind French Bulldog Wellness, a brand dedicated to the health and well-being of the beloved French Bulldog breed. With her two furry companions, Chloe and Lola, by her side, Summer is redefining the pet industry, one stylish Frenchie at a time.
Your journey from fashion icon to CEO of French Bulldog Wellness is quite intriguing. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind this transition?
I was inspired after I adopted my first French bulldog 10 years ago (before they were so popular). Within just a few months of owning a Frenchie, I realized really quickly how unique they are with their large ears, skin allergies, delicate body structure and breathing struggles. I was inspired to help this breed live the best life possible and decided to start my own company specifically for French bulldogs making wipes and grooming products. And that is where French Bulldog Wellness got its start now 7 years ago.
What makes French Bulldog Wellness stand out in the increasingly popular world of breed-specific pet brands?
French Bulldog Wellness is designed for French Bulldogs, as French Bulldogs have deep folds on their face cheeks that most other breeds do not have, and that need to be cleaned off every day. So I designed an anti-microbial wipe with the best ingredients to help clean their cute little faces off and smell great.
Could you share some insights into the challenges that come with caring for French Bulldogs, and how your brand addresses them?
Any Frenchie owner can tell you all about the allergies their Frenchie has, they are known for having itchy skin. My brand takes care of all that by wiping the skin clean to prevent and stop any itch or allergy.
As someone deeply passionate about the environment, how does sustainability play a role in your company’s ethos and product development?
My company only carries 2 products, wipes and shampoo. I feel the term “less is more” fits in with my brand, as these 2 products, especially the wipes really work well in getting the job done I did not feel the need to carry a huge product line of many many products that would waste plastic, as we are always working to be as sustainable as possible.
French Bulldogs have become a cultural phenomenon. How do you think their unique personality and characteristics have contributed to their popularity?
That is right, they are rated the top #1 popular breed this year and continue to become more and more popular each year. They are great dogs for many reasons, they are very mellow and do not need a lot of exercise, they are rated the best breed for living in an apartment and they are so funny and adorable dogs.
The American Kennel Club named the French Bulldog as the “top dog” in the United States in 2023. What does this recognition mean to you and your brand?
That is great news for my brand! That means more and more people are adopting French bulldogs.
Your French Bulldog Wellness wipes have garnered quite a following. Could you elaborate on how they cater to the specific needs of this breed?
French Bulldog Wellness wipes help keep the Frenchie’s clean and itch and allergy free.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to create a brand that resonates with a niche audience, like Frenchie owners?
My advice is to be patient stay confident and create a brand you believe in and would use as a consumer. Also try to stay away from products that are trends that might not be around long. You want to create a product and brand that you can see being popular for many years to come, not something that is only popular for a year or two.
In the world of pet ownership, French Bulldogs have a special place. How do you envision the future of this breed and its influence on the pet industry?
I believe French Bulldogs will hold their popularity for many years, they have such unique personalities, and they want everything “their way or no way.” They can be stubborn which just adds to their cuteness. Mine really enjoy their daily walks, and on our walks, I have to go in the direction they want to go otherwise they will just sit down and throw a fit. It is hilarious. They are full of nonstop entertainment that brings joy and happiness to their owners.
As a CEO, model, and advocate for French Bulldogs, how do you balance your various roles and maintain your unique sense of style and purpose?
I have learned to try to collaborate them all into one, my 2 Frenchie’s have been used in photo shoots for modelling shoots. So it all just blends together.
