Daniella Beckerman’s Holiday Rules

I grew up in a beach town in South Florida, so it’s in my roots to be by the ocean. I moved to Los Angeles right after graduating high school to continue modelling and pursue acting. After living in LA for two years, I got my real estate license and am now working towards my Bachelor’s degree in business intending to eventually get my MBA. Entrepreneurship is my next endeavour.

If you want to know the real me, meet me at sunset at the beach. Sometimes when I am a bit recluse, I escape to Malibu where I feel most at home. I could be having the worst day but as soon as I go for a swim in that cold water I feel brand new. The beach always silently reminds me of my path and who I am. It is my meditation and inspiration.

When I think of this photoshoot, it reminds me of a beautiful story of two souls chasing each other…

“Miles away he felt her but didn’t know who she was. He felt her love and knew her to be his. He felt her lips graze his at night, but couldn’t find her. She felt him too. Every day she felt his love racing through her body, but when she closed her eyes to picture him she couldn’t. Their souls met before their eyes. “Meet me at sunset”, she whispered.”

What is your favourite beach vacation destination?

I love St. Barths.

Top beach hotel?

There are so many beautiful beach hotels I could think of but I really love the serenity and privacy I get at Stay Awhile Villas in Malibu next to Nobu. I love a staycation more than anything.

Packing essentials?

My Tiziana Terenzi perfume, Biologique Recherche skincare, Tom Ford sunnies, a classic black bikini, Emi Jay hair clips, a good book, a speaker, Elta MD tinted sunscreen, and Summer Friday’s lip balm!

What’s your advice to always look fashionable when you’re travelling to a beach resort?

White linen, flowy dresses, and accessories. I think the chicest beach style starts with letting the ocean and sun do all the work. Sun-kissed skin and messy salty hair paired with some great but minimal jewellery is always super chic.

What are your travel skincare and makeup tips?

For a beach vacation, pack more skincare and less makeup! I think using skincare as makeup, or finding products that work as both is my biggest tip! I will usually use some Vintner’s Daughter on sun kissed skin for a radiant glow, Ilia blush, Charlotte tilbury brow gel, and vanilla beige Summer Friday’s lip balm of course.

The one beauty product you can’t live without?

My Summer Friday’s lip balm!

How would you define your beach style?

Minimalist but with chic accessories. I love to wear simple flowy pieces with a good pair of glasses, a hat, sandals and some jewellery. Loose button-ups, pants, silks, linens, or something like a reformation dress.

How do you stay fit on vacation?

Instead of going to a gym and lifting, I will do morning meditation, stretching, and pilates-style exercises outdoors. I usually just grab a yoga mat, do a little booty series, 10-minute abs, and a variation of push-ups. This feels so amazing, especially with a view of the ocean. I do try to give myself a little break on vacation though and mostly focus on eating clean.

Favourite spa treatment?

My basic answer would be a good deep tissue massage, then a sauna. But, if I want to spoil myself a little more I love going to the new Biologique Recherche spa in LA and getting one of their signature facials.

Where are you travelling next?

I’m going to Aspen, Colorado! Then hopefully somewhere very warm after.

What are some of your favourite beaches that you have been to?

Isla Palominos in Puerto Rico and Saline Beach in St Barthsare my top favourites, but I always feel so at peace and home on Carbon Beach in Malibu.

What are your favourite tanning and sun beauty products?

I use coconut oil If I really want to tan. I also love to put on a leave-in hair mask from Briogeo while in the sun. If I want my skin to glow I use Supergoop’s Glow Screen.

What is your favourite swimwear line?

Kamari Swim!

What are some of your must-have “on the beach ” essentials?

My puppy, of course, lip balm, sunglasses, sunscreen, a good book, and music.
