The Private Reserve, at 1,700 metres, is the largest overwater villa in the world, offering total seclusion with a location 500 metres from the island and 300 metres from the nearest residence. Designed by renowned Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan from Studio MK27, 90 exquisitely appointed one-, two- and three-bedroom beach and water villas, as well as 20 Fari Studios. One-bedroom beach and water sanctuaries each feature a private pool and oversized outdoor tub. Two-bedroom villas feature a large communal living space and floor-to-ceiling movable glass walls on all sides.

For extended families, studios are set overlooking native tropical greenery and a turquoise lagoon, with proximity to the island’s social hub, Fari Marina Village, giving these studios a dual essence. With nothing reaching higher than a palm tree, one of Kogan’s main goals was to balance the resort with its surroundings with sleek, sophisticated lines and open panoramas. Showcasing renowned artwork of resonating presence by emerging and leading talent, Patina showcases an island-wide collection of expressive pieces by international artists, a permanent art gallery and an artist-in-residence program. Dolphin spotting is enjoyed from Patina’s showpiece Adastra superyacht or on a dhoni, which is the traditional fishing boat of the Maldives. The most commonly seen in the region are Spinner dolphins which can number hundreds.
