Trip Tease: Acre Resort, Cabo

ARRIVE
Tucked away in the foothills of San Jose del Cabo, Acre Hotel + Villas is a modern-day sanctuary set on 25 acres of verdant farmland and lush greenery complete with thousands of palms, citrus trees, cacti and agave plants that creates a relaxing and authentic Baja experience.

STAY
Twelve treehouses nestled throughout the property’s gardens allow guests to commune and connect with nature bringing an overwhelming sense of calm. Each open-air oasis, which features a king bed, private outdoor terrace, bathroom and outdoor shower, allows the Baja breeze to act as a natural air conditioner and dream-inducing sound machine lulling guests into a deep sleep each night. All rooms include a terrace, custom mini-bar, outdoor shower, and a king-sized bed with a mosquito net. All guests receive a complimentary breakfast and yoga session each morning. It is difficult to separate reality from a fairytale as you head home on a beautiful path on the way to your treehouse.

UPGRADE
For those wanting the Acre feeling to last forever, the property’s two- and three-bedroom villas are available for fractional ownership. Whether staying a few nights or a few months, Acre allows guests to reconnect with themselves, and those closest to them and recharges the soul just enough until next time.

DINE
Acre’s Restaurant and Cocktail Bar is a unique establishment that blends global recipes while using natural, local ingredients. They also have an innovative cocktail program which is elevated by produce grown just beyond the confines of the bar. A private dining experience, such as open-air jungle dining, will top off the mood. This is a way to have a fine dining experience while connecting with nature. The Mezcal Lounge is surrounded by lush greenery and is a tiled patio area fit for many occasions. It is close enough to the cocktail bar to get drinks taken quickly, but far enough to feel like the only guests at the resort.

PLAY & SPA
The expansive property offers a complete guest experience as it boasts a zero-edge solar heated pool, Fausto’s all-day breakfast diner, daily yoga, a jogging/biking trail, bocce court, new art, and a movement academy. Massage and other bodywork is available at the Treehouse Spa, and for those looking to escape the calm and get the adrenaline pumping can throw some surfboards into an RZR 4×4 and explore miles of pristine, untouched coastline just minutes from the hotel. As guests explore the hotel’s winding pathways, they may come across free-ranging peacocks, rescued baby goats and donkeys, as well as litters of rescue pups known as Acre Dogs. To date, nearly 200 abandoned puppies have been rescued and adopted through the Acre program spreading the Acre love far beyond Los Cabos.
