Stay

Mexico’s “starchitect,” Javier Sanchez, drew inspiration from 1950’s hotels in Mexico, California, and the Caribbean to redefine Mexican architecture, and viewed the hotel as a vessel of opportunity for those who book a stay. Every room has panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez, which serves as inspiration for the design of the rooms. Mexican tiled floors nod to traditional Mexican designs, but rich creams tones that adorn the walls and furniture are reminiscent of the white sand beaches that awaits outside the private balcony. For a true 5 star stay, upgrade to one of the private suites, which come with butler service and a private plunge pool.

Dine

The Cape has two restaurants and two bars, all helmed by genius executive chef Enrique Olvera. Celebrated for his interpretation of modern Mexican cuisine, Olvera is renowned for combining Avant garde creations while using traditional Mexican cooking techniques. Olvera’s tantalizing cuisine is prominently on display at The Cape’s signature restaurant, Manta. Using Pacific Rim cooking traditions, Olvera transforms locally sourced ingredients into polished yet straightforward dishes chock full of sophisticated Mexican flavors.

If you’re looking for more of a casual party atmosphere, head to the top of the hotel and bask at the alfresco rooftop lounge. The only rooftop bar in all of Cabo, soak in the 360 degree views of both the city and the ocean.  When it gets dark, head to the lobby and enjoy a cocktail at the sunken bar. While the vibe is more casual, both the lounge and lobby bar offer tantalizing menus full of innovative Mexican dishes.

Spa

The intimate spa and fitness center at The Cape is the 5 star spa extravaganza of your dreams. Nestled between two rock formations found on the property, the interplay of light against the rock creates enough shady space for a calming, transcendent experience. While the rocks are natural and primitive, the amenities the spa offers are not. The spa is stocked with hot and cold plunge pools, a sauna, and a couple’s massage space with rain showers and a private pool. For the ultimate experience, book one of the two private ocean-view cabanas, and enjoy al fresco massages and treatments while soaking in the warm Cabo sun and sea.

Play

If you don’t want to linger off property, The Cape has two fabulous pools to choose from. Lounge in a cabana next to the salt water pool and work on getting a gorgeous tan. Or, if you’re up for a swim, take a few laps in the infinity pool and then grab a drink at the sunken swim-up bar. If you’d rather take a dip in the ocean, bask on the white sand of The Cape’s private beach area.

The Cape is situated near all the adventures Cabo has to offer. A step away from the hotel is the infamous surfer’s paradise, Monuments Beach. Book a sunset cruise and sip on tequila as the sun sets, or go for an adventure in a Sierra Buggie and explore Cabo’s natural terrain. Kayaking, diving, and surfing are always popular activities, as is taking a drive to Cabo’s sister town, San Jose del Cabo. Make a day out of it and enjoy the rich art and architecture San Jose del Cabo has to offer.
