Rising & Radiant — Alixandra Fuchs
There’s a distinct electricity around Alixandra Fuchs right now—the kind that surrounds a woman stepping into her power with full creative force. A producer, actress, and rising lifestyle voice, Alixandra has quickly become one of the most compelling multi-hyphenates shaping Hollywood’s next chapter. Her latest triumph: IT: Welcome to Derry, HBO’s record-breaking prequel to the iconic Stephen King universe, where she not only delivers a pivotal on-screen performance but also helps steer the ship behind the scenes.
The series marks a landmark moment for FiveTen Productions, the boutique production company Alixandra co-founded and now co-leads with her husband, Jason Fuchs, co-creator and showrunner of the series. In just its first season, Welcome to Derry shattered HBO Max records and cemented FiveTen as a new creative force with something powerful—and deliciously unsettling—to say.
But Alixandra’s story doesn’t begin in Derry. Raised in Los Angeles and shaped by a childhood spent hopping from one international film set to another with her producer parents, she carries a global sensibility and a lifelong love of storytelling. Her on-screen career began with the Emmy-winning Hatfields & McCoys, eventually expanding into an eclectic mix of prestige television roles. Now, with several major projects in development—most notably RATS! with Lionsgate—Alixandra is proving she’s just as formidable behind the camera.
From London, where she currently resides, Alixandra’s world is equal parts cinema, wanderlust, and a thoughtful approach to modern living—a blend that has made her lifestyle content an aspirational corner of the internet. And as the next wave of FiveTen projects rolls forward, it’s clear she is only just beginning to claim her space in the cultural conversation.
Welcome to Derry has become one of HBO’s biggest premieres in history. What was it like watching the world react—not only as part of the cast but as the co-CEO of FiveTen Productions, one of the production companies behind season one?
It was the absolute best kind of surprise! Look, my role—my only role—on this show was playing Terri Bainbridge, but of course my husband, Jason, co-created, co-ran, and executive produced the show, and it was, as you mentioned, the first production to come out of our new company, so there was a lot at stake. I watched the love and passion Jason put into this over four years of work. Derry has been a huge chapter of our lives, so when the critical response came in the way that it did and then the ratings, breaking records, I was just so happy for Jason, for the rest of the creative team, for the rest of the cast, the crew—it felt like that response honoured the hard work so many people had breathed into this for so long. And on a purely individual level, it has just felt gratifying to play a small part in something that clearly is resonating with audiences around the world.
FiveTen Productions is still young, yet it already feels like a powerhouse. What creative DNA did you and Jason want the company to have from day one?
Our DNA! It’s a family company, so we want to pursue the kinds of projects that Jason and I wish there were more of in the world. Big, bold, inventive original storytelling. We’re nineties kids. We miss that era of moviemaking, and so finding a fresh way into those kinds of films is a major ambition of ours. High-concept, emotional, hopeful. That’s the DNA of a FiveTen film or show.
You grew up visiting film sets around the world with your parents—practically raised on location. How did that childhood shape your instincts as a producer today?
Being on set can be very intimidating. There are tons of people everywhere, and everything seems like it’s moving very fast.
“Being comfortable in that environment is definitely a skill that is learned. I have always felt very at home on set, and I think that has been a huge advantage as an actress and producer.”
As an actress, you’ve stepped into a wide range of roles across prestige TV. How did returning to the screen in Welcome to Derry differ from past projects?
It was the first time I worked with my husband, so there’s that. Also, the scale of the show was just so massive. I had never worked on anything so BIG before.
FiveTen’s upcoming project, RATS! with Lionsgate, has already sparked curiosity. What drew you to that story, and what can you share about the tone you’re helping craft?
As someone who has lived in NYC, I have had my fair share of run-ins with New York City rats. It’s a great concept for a horror movie and will definitely speak to anyone who has also had run-ins with the rats!
You’ve spoken about being energised by the intersection of storytelling and world-building. When you look at FiveTen’s slate, what kinds of narratives are you most excited to champion next?
I’m an avid reader. I still think that some of the best original stories come from that literary space. We have a few books that are real passion projects of mine that we are looking to develop for film and TV. FiveTen is even developing one adaptation of a book—something I can’t announce yet—where the novelist is actually writing the screenplay based on his own novel, which is really exciting! We are a writer-driven company.
You divide your life between Hollywood roots and your current home in London. How has living abroad influenced your work, your creativity, or even the way you approach production?
Well, I think it’s often said you are what you read, but I think it’s also true, to some extent, that you are what you see. And living in a new environment—being based in a city that’s a hop, skip, and a jump from so many other extraordinary locales—means you’re constantly being exposed to new experiences. I’ve found that incredibly stimulating creatively. And it doesn’t hurt that the UK has really grown into the preeminent global film and TV production hub, so, as a producer, I’m learning from and collaborating with the best of the best.
Your lifestyle content—from bio-hacking to travel to skincare—has become a destination for your audience. What part of your personal routine keeps you grounded while juggling high-pressure film and TV projects?
I love a routine and think they are essential when it comes to prioritising your wellbeing. The routines that keep me grounded are working out five to six days a week (strength training and Pilates), weekly facials and lymphatic massages, weekly hyperbaric oxygen chamber sessions, and going on walks (love to get those steps in!). Even just the routine of making my morning coffee brings me joy!
Stepping into the horror universe of Stephen King is no small feat. What surprised you most about acting within a world beloved—and feared—by millions?
Even though the subject matter of this show is very disturbing, what surprised me is that we, as the actor,s were still able to laugh and have fun in between the heavy scenes. Everyone was able to let go and find joy in the off-camera moments. I always say acting is like adult playtime. It’s so important not to take it all too seriously.
With Welcome to Derry streaming now and more projects on the horizon, what feels like the next evolution for you—as a producer, a performer, and a storyteller?
In the coming months, we plan to start announcing more of our projects for FiveTen, so that is where my focus is going to be directed going into the new year. I am so excited to build out this company with my husband. If anything exciting on the acting front emerges, I’m all in on that, too!
Alixandra Fuchs’s Holiday Rules
What is the one carry-on essential you never travel without?
Hard to pick just one! I’m the person who has all the tinctures, lotions, and potions in my carry-on. However, I am never without antibacterial wipes. Planes are so dirty! I always wipe everything down.
What’s the first thing you do the moment you step into a hotel room?
Back to my trusted antibacterial wipes! I always wipe down the remote controls, the telephone, door handles, light switches, etc. If you haven’t already guessed—I’m a bit of a germaphobe!
Which luxury hotel in the world is at the top of your must-stay list right now?
Le Bristol in Paris. It’s always so lovely there. The rooms are beautiful, the food is great, and the service is impeccable!
What in-flight beauty or wellness ritual do you swear by?
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Flying is so taxing on the body, and that recirculated air is SO dehydrating. For long-haul flights, I’ll buy five or six 1L bottles of water and sip consistently throughout the flight. I sometimes add boosters to my water for extra hydration and benefits, too. I love the Humic & Fulvic acids from The Blend, Juna Detox Chlorophyll drops, and Cymbiotika’s Molecular Hydrogen. I will also sometimes add a small pinch of Celtic salt to my water for added electrolytes.
Where are you most at home when travelling—beside the pool or in the penthouse?
I’m a very active person, so I always find a little bit of home when I’m in the gym. While travelling, our routines can get disrupted. Making sure I carve out an hour to work out each day keeps me balanced.
What’s the most memorable upscale travel experience you’ve had recently?
My husband and I love to eat. We love fine dining—tasting menus, wine pairings, the whole experience. Most of my memorable moments while travelling are where I eat! Recently, we were out for a few nights in Somerset and ate at a phenomenal restaurant called Osip. They have a seasonal tasting menu that was autumnal and delicious. The wine pairing was excellent, and the presentation was stunning from start to finish.
How would you describe your packing style in one word?
Organized.
What fragrance instantly puts you in vacation mode?
I’m not sure a particular fragrance puts me in vacation mode. However, I do love the smell of wood burning in a fireplace. It’s just so cozy in the winter! Once I smell that specific scent, I know it’s winter holiday time.
Which calls to you more at the moment: a vibrant city escape or a secluded beach getaway?
I love nature, but there’s nothing like a city escape where you can soak up all the culture and energy of the place you’re traveling. Spending the day walking around, going to museums, eating local food—that is heaven for me.
What destination sits highest on your travel wishlist for 2026?
Seoul, South Korea. I have a few friends who have recently gone and done a bunch of fun beauty treatments. All of them came back with an extra suitcase full of skincare goodies. They also found the city to be so stimulating and unique! I’m hoping to go next year sometime.
