Travel Safely During the Pandemic With New App

Ever dreamed of cruising down the Amazon on an ultra-luxe riverboat, reaching the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, racing an F1 car on a closed track in Dubai or helicoptering off the deck of a ship to visit Emperor penguins on the coast of Antarctica? The travel app, DragonSlayer, can help you check off every item on your bucket list while alleviating fears you might have around travelling safely during the coronavirus pandemic.

Originally released in 2019 by tech entrepreneur Peter Wells, the DragonSlayer app was geared toward discerning travellers seeking truly unique experiences. With an inventory of over 8,000 excursions as well as an extensive list of top restaurants, hotels and local events, DragonSlayer users are unlikely to run out of options when searching for their next extraordinary journeys.

Now, DragonSlayer has shifted its focus to the travel professional community and enthusiasts by providing a service offered by no other app: real-time monitoring of COVID-19 case numbers and travel restrictions for all 50 U.S. states and 124 countries. “We have created a set of analytics, built-in consultation with doctors and epidemiologists that can help travellers make informed decisions on where to travel,” Wells told Retreat. “We call it Smart Analytics For Educating Travelers or SAFE-T. Not only do we provide real-time data on where it is relatively safe to travel domestically or internationally, but we also provide real-time comprehensive updates on the terms for how countries and states are opening up.”

With DragonSlayer 2.0, you can access the new SAFE-T scores and stack ranking lists, browse individual landing pages with information on each state and country and enable push notifications so you can track destinations on your Watch List as conditions continue to change. The Open Countries Filter allows you to view only countries that are open to US travellers and no longer require quarantine. After answering a few questions designed to assess your personal tolerance risk, the app’s RT filter will automatically adjust locations’ SAFE-T scores according to your preferences.

“We all travel differently, whether it is our preference for adventure trips, active trips, chill trips or cultural trips,” Wells said. “And now added to the mix, we have our own personal level of risk. We call this your ‘risk tolerance factor’ and it is important because no matter where you choose to go, you should be comfortable traveling there. Our goal is to help travel professionals expertly guide their clients to make informed decisions based on most current and accurate data for each country or state relative to their track record with Covid-19.”

Since its relaunch last month, the DragonSlayer app is also now being used by dozens of travel agencies. The app is saving Travel Slayers the legwork of tracking ever-shifting restrictions and requirements, researching the opening status of hotels, restaurants and attractions, and obtaining up-to-date information about curfews, testing locations, limitations on gatherings and attraction closures.

“DragonSlayer’s mobile platform leverages Smart Analytics for Educating Travelers to help travel professionals manage expectations and navigate their discerning travelers through this new era of travel,” Wells explained. “We deliver accurate, digestible and relevant travel information to ensure that you are armed to advise your clients flawlessly.”

If you are ready to plan that long-awaited escape after months of quarantine, become a Travel Slayer by utilizing DragonSlayer technology. The mobile app is now available for download on Android through Google Play with a desktop version debuting on September 22.
